Howto: Galaxy Nexus flash Android 4.2 Factory Image

Seit kurzem gibt es von Google ein Factory Image mit Android 4.2 Jelly Bean für das Galaxy Nexus und so kam ich nicht daran vorbei es gleich auf mein Phone aufzuspielen. Ihr wollt das auch? Na dann ist das genau das richtige Howto für euch.

Wie immer ist diese Anleitung genau das was ich getan habe und wie es bei mir funktioniert hat. Ich übernehme keine Garantie für Funktionalität oder eventuelle dadurch entstandene Schäden auf eurem Gerät. Ihr tut das auf eigene Gefahr!

Ihr wurdet gewarnt!

Nur zur Info: Ich habe das ganze auf einem Linux Rechner gemacht, aber auch auf einem Windows Rechner läuft das nicht anders, nur das ihr hier die fastboot.exe und nicht mit ./fastboot verwendet.

Vorbereitungen

Ladet euch von folgender Seite das Image für euer Gerät herunter.

Ihr braucht einen Rechner mit installiertem Android SDK

Die Installation

1. Entpackt das Zip mit dem Image.

2. Nun öffnet einen Terminal

3. (optional) Sollte euer Bootloader gesperrt sein müsst ihr ihn erst entsperren. (Wenn er schon entsperrt ist, könnt ihr das überspringen)

./fastboot oem unlock

4. Flashen des Bootloaders

./fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-<VERSION-EURES-IMAGES>.img

5. Reboot des Bootloader

./fastboot reboot-bootloader

6. Flashen des Radio Images

./fastboot radio radio-<VERSION-EURES-IMAGES>.img

7. Reboot des Bootloader

./fastboot reboot-bootloader

8. Update installieren

./fastboot -w update image-<VERSION-EURES-IMAGES>.zip

Danach sollte euer System automatisch rebooten. Geduld! Der erste Boot dauert immer lange. Wenn nun alles gut gegangen ist habt ihr nun Android 4.2 auf eurem Gerät!
