Der Raspberry Pi wird mit XMBC zum perfekten HTPC

Dieser kreditkartengroße Mini PC um ca. 26€ ist aktuell ja sowas wie der heilige Gral der Hardware Hacker und Computerbastler und dank @stefan2904 bin ich nun auch stolzer Besitzer eines solchen 700mhz Boards mit SD Karten Slot, HDMI und USB Anschluss und Ethernet Port.

Ich bin kein großer Hardware Hacker aber sehr interessiert und lernfähig. Aber soviel vorweg, aus dem Raspberry Pi einen super HTPC zu machen ist eigentlich total einfach und erfordert kaum technisches Know How.

Einkaufsliste

Der Raspberry Pi kommt ohne Zubehör. Nur das Board, ohne Case und ohne Stromversorgung. Deshalb brauchen wir ein paar Dinge damit das Ganze funktioniert.

  • HDMI Kabel
  • Micro USB Kabel mit Stromstecker
  • SD Karte (min. 4 GB)

XBMC

XBMC ist eine freie Mediaplayer Software, welche neben Medien von der Festplatte auch Medien von UPnP Geräten und über AddOns auch Youtube und viele andere Medien aus dem Internet abspielen kann.

Installation

Ich habe mich für ein Image namens Raspbmc entschieden und es ganz einfach wie in diesem Tutorial beschrieben installiert.

Danach musste nur noch alles mit dem TV verbunden werden und schon startet die automatische Installation am Raspberry. Diese dauert etwas, aber am Ende hat mein einen HTPC der Extraklasse um 26€ und das in der Größe einer Kreditkarte!

DIY Lego Case

Wie ich ja bereits gesagt habe kommt der Raspberry ja ohne Case und so “nackt” konnte ich ihn ja nicht rumliegen lassen, also habe ich ihm schnell ein Case aus Lego gebaut.
